Haslem's jumper lifts Heat over Hornets

MIAMI (AP) Dwyane Wade had 31 points, and Udonis Haslem hit a jumper with 15.4 seconds left to lift the Miami Heat past the New Orleans Hornets 102-101 on Sunday night.

Haslem finished with 14 points off the bench, including both field goals for Miami in the final minute. He tied the game at 100 with 45 seconds left, then after Marcus Thornton put the Hornets ahead with a free throw, Haslem won it with a shot from the left side. Read More...

CLEVELAND (AP) Becoming one of Ohio's uniformed officers won't be a cakewalk for Shaquille O'Neal.

Hoping to further his off-the-court career in law enforcement, the Cleveland Cavaliers star has applied to become a special deputy in the Buckeye state. But the (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported Sunday that O'Neal must pass an examination and undergo training first. Read More...

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Andrei Kirilenko and the Utah Jazz outlasted the Detroit Pistons for their fourth straight victory.

Kirilenko scored six of his 22 points in overtime and the Jazz beat the Pistons 100-97 on Saturday night. Carlos Boozer scored 18 of his 22 points in the second half and overtime to help the Jazz escape a back-and-forth game that produced 17 lead changes and saw no lead larger than five points after halftime. Read More...

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) It took a half, then Brandon Jennings showed the Memphis Grizzlies why he is among the best of this year's rookie class.
